training slogan

The Cambs Badminton Academy is a new dimension in badminton coaching, competition and training in Cambridgeshire, working together with players, coaches and parents to create a sustainable, performance centre environment for our future generations of elite badminton players.

We are an entirely voluntary organisation, with every single one of us putting in all our time for nothing and we do this because we are committed to enabling our young (and older) members achieve whatever level they wish to achieve in the wonderful sport of badminton.

We regard the development of a person´s badminton career from early age to podium (hey, we have ambition too!) as something precious that must be nurtured and treated holistically. Every single member of our Academy is regarded as an individual and each one will be given the coaching and encouragement that best suits their own expectations, ambitions and drive. Each junior member will be given opportunities in badminton that will increase their confidence, their ability and their enjoyment of the sport. And, where someone shows exceptional talent and promise they will be guided on a pathway that will take them as far as they wish to go.

We offer year round coaching to anyone, of any ability and of any age without discrimination or judgement. You can read more about us in the About Us page (funnily enough!) and if you keep checking back on this site you will keep up to date with all the events and goings-on we are involved with.

2nd CAMBS JUNIOR OPEN TOURNAMENT

Sam, Jamie and Jamie The Cambs Badminton Academy organised the 2nd Cambs Junior Open Tournament at CRC, Cambridge, on Sunday 11th September and this year there were even more competitors than ever. 88 juniors from Cambridgeshire, Worcestershire. Bedfordshire, Norfolk, London, all participated in a very competitive, yet friendly, atmosphere with some very close matches played. This year the organisers added new age groups to the tournament and this proved a real success.

There were 4 age groups - U12, U15, U18 and U21 in two playing categories - County/League and Social/Club. The U18 and U21 age groups had mixed doubles as an added discipline and this, as usual, proved very popular!
