REPORT ON ACADEMY´S FIRST YEAR AND AGM REPORT
The Academy held its first AGM on Saturday 7th May and Chair, Helen Critchell, was absolutely delighted, and deeply grateful for, the level of support that was in evidence at the the meeting.
The success and progress achieved over the last 14 months since the advent of the Academy has been immense - far greater than was ever imagined at the outset and both Neil and Helen wish to say a huge Thankyou to all their juniors and their parents for their continued commitment and support.
Already the Academy has reached the level of a Performance Centre but without any official approval or declaration. As Badminton England is no longer supporting new Performance Centres the Academy will simply continue to apply the exacting standards of planning, preparation and coaching provision that would be expected of a Performance Centre. The remit of the Academy continues to be that of providing badminton opportunities, player pathways, competition and support to match the goals, aspirations and needs of every single one of its members. The Academy will continue to grow as long as the demand is there and every single committee member is committed to enabling the Academy to provide what is necessary for that growth.
