Games will be played to Badminton England Rules unless otherwise stated.
Teams should consist of four players, either girls or boys or both. U14 team players should be 13 years and under on 1st October and U18 players should be 17 years and under on the same date).
Every team member must be a full member of the junior badminton club or school whose team name they are representing.
All games to be played using the “rally points” scoring system and the winner will be the first player to reach 21 or 15 points depending on time available; there will be no setting. One rubber only to be played per game.
Plastic shuttles will be used.
Players must wear suitable clothing and footwear. No black-soled shoes allowed on court.
The organisers and their representatives´ decisions are final.
Players must report to the league administrator immediately on arrival at the match venue and be ready to start playing promptly when their games are due to start.
Each team attending the events should be accompanied by an adult.
If a player is not available to play at the allotted time for their games, then their opponent may be awarded a bye at the discretion of the organisers.
Failure of a team to turn up for a match event will result in a bye being given to the remaining teams in that division.
Players will be allowed 90 seconds warm-up before each game.
Any player may be substituted prior to the match, but details must be supplied to the league organisers as soon as those details are known.
A team may use a substitute, if one is available during a match event, should one of their players become injured for all remaining games in that match event. The substituted player may not be used to complete any game already started by the injured player. The score, at the point the game ends due to injury, will be 21 to the opponent with the injured player retaining the score he/she achieved up till that point.
Any substitution required cannot be made using a player from a team in a division that is ranked higher than the team requiring the substitution.
The winner of each game must report the game results to the league organisers immediately after a game has finished. The loser of the game or the court official (if present) must record the game score on the chart kept at the side of each court.
The winning team in each division will be the team with the most match points. In the event of a tie the team losing the least number of points will be the winner.
All players must remain off the courts unless they are playing in a game. Care must be taken at all times not to walk across courts while a game is in progress.
No food and drink to be taken on the courts.
All players must respect the organiser´s decisions, the facilities and other players at all times.
Any anticipated absences from match events must be reported to the league organisers with as much notice as possible.
Where necessary, these rules may be amended accordingly by the league organisers, at any point in time.
The organisers or match venue owners will accept no responsibility for lost or damaged personal possessions.
